Hi, I'm wanting to build a new home. I'm curious: What types of subcontractors are needed to build a home?

I know some, such as framing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical… What other types of contractors are needed when building a brand new custom home?

When building a new home its like a network o bees building a hive. It starts with planning (architects) . Then its constuction, then you build from the frame in…flooring, aesthetics, cabinetry etc

Hire a builder to construct your new home, it is very important to hire a trained professsional before taking on the task of managing different subcontractors. The following is a list of subcontractors used to build a home.

Surveyor
Site Grader
Concrete/Foundation
Framing sub
Roofer
Drywall
Insulation
HVAC
Plumber
Electrical and more…

When building a new home there are many phases that go along with it as far as architect, surveyor, sitework, foundation, framing, roofing, electric , hvac, plumbing, designing and dealing with township license & inspections for your zoning & build permits. It is always best to do your homework and pick the right General Contractor & Builder that would handle all these aspects of your new home for you this way it is less stressful. You should be able to find a builder who can handle everything for you from start to finish which includes your blueprints, permits, materials, labor and so fourth. We are a general contractor & builder and we do everything in house except for HVAC, plumbing & electrical. We use licensed contractors in those trades to complete the work and we supervise and schedule everything with them so you the homeowner don’t have to worry about anything.
